This project aims to fix the 3 main problems we encountered in op011: Unknown number of clues, No definitive winner, and No rewards. You can read about how those problems affected the outcome of the game and the enjoyment of it's main supporters in depth on the main operations page.

In OPCO's yearly operation challenge; there will be exactly 16 clues increasing in difficulty, released on the 16th day of January each year, and there will be exactly 1 winner (regardless of how many players choose to team up to solve the challenge.)

OPCO yearly operations will always be 100% free.

Our first public alternate reality project op011 was an internet wide experiment for us to learn how our growing community of computer science hobbiests, enthusiasts, and professionals work through complex challenges over an extended period of time.

Over the course of nearly 3 years, tens of thousands of players who heard of the project solely by word of mouth, attempted to solve the constantly evolving set of clues with no promise of an ending. We made a lot of mistakes along the way in how we released content and those dedicated to solving op011 were not shy about letting us know where we messed up.
